A Love Letter to the "Unconventional" Wedding

I love when a couple reaches out to me and says they have some ideas for their ceremony that are “unconventional”, “alternative”, “non-traditional”, “unique”, or “out of the box.” Because do you know what I hear? “We want our wedding to be AUTHENTIC to who we are.”

You can count me in.

No couple is the same – so why would their ceremonies be the same? One of my favourite things about doing customized ceremonies is that I get to know my couples, their personalities, their interests, and their style. That is what I use to guide my writing. That is what I use to make sure your big day feels like YOU and not a generic script someone can copy from the internet.

What can an “unconventional” wedding look like? Anything you can dream of. That’s the point! I will ensure legalities are observed, and from there we make your vision come to life.

Do your personal beliefs not fit in with the weddings you’ve attended before? The beauty of being a metaphysical officiant is that I can work within so many different realms of spirituality to accommodate your traditions, beliefs, and practices.

I have a running document of wedding ceremonies from all the fantasy novels I have read (and am always open to more recommendations!) and know how to incorporate quotes from movies and media that give a wink or a nudge to the things you love without feeling forced or awkward.
